Carpet Cleaning FAQs
How long does carpet cleaning take?
Most homes take one to three hours depending on how many rooms are being cleaned. A single room is usually well under an hour. We will give you a time estimate with your quote.
How long do carpets take to dry?
Normally within 24 hours. We groom the pile and use air movement to speed it up, and the carpet is walkable on straight away — it just needs the time to dry fully before you put furniture back.
Do I need to move the furniture?
No. We move what can be moved safely and clean around anything heavy or fragile. If you would like a room completely cleared, just move the small items and we will handle the rest.
Will the stains definitely come out?
Most will lift considerably or disappear. Some will not: bleach marks, sun fade and dye that has been pulled out by a previous DIY treatment are permanent damage rather than soiling. We will tell you what to expect before we start rather than after.
What method do you use?
Hot water extraction — the method most carpet manufacturers specify. Hot cleaning solution is injected into the pile and immediately vacuumed back out, taking the loosened dirt with it rather than leaving residue behind.
Are your products safe for children and pets?
Yes. We use environmentally responsible products and rinse thoroughly, so nothing is left in the pile once the carpet is dry.
Do you clean commercial premises out of hours?
Yes, as standard. Evenings, weekends and early mornings are all available so we are not disrupting your business.
Which areas do you cover?
Greater London, South East London, Kent and Surrey. If you are just outside, send us your postcode and we will tell you honestly whether we can get to you.
Upholstery Cleaning FAQs
How long does it take to clean a sofa?
A typical three-seater takes under an hour. A full suite or a set of dining chairs is usually one to two hours. We clean in place, so nothing has to be taken away.
How long does upholstery take to dry?
Most upholstery is dry within a few hours. Low-moisture cleaning on delicate fabrics is quicker still.
Can you clean any fabric?
Most modern sofa fabrics, cotton, polyester and microfibre clean well. Wool and viscose need a gentler low-moisture method. We will decline dry-clean-only fabrics marked "S", untreated silk and anything where the test patch shows the dye moving — and we tell you at the survey, at no cost.
Do you test before cleaning?
Always. Every piece gets a colourfastness and shrinkage test in a hidden area before we touch anything visible.
Will you get pet smells out?
Cleaning removes the soiling that causes most odours, and in the majority of cases that is the end of it. Where urine has soaked into the foam beneath the cover, results vary — we will say so honestly before we start.
Is it worth cleaning or should I just replace it?
Cleaning costs a fraction of replacement, and on a sofa that is structurally sound it usually makes the difference. If the frame is going or the fabric is worn through, we will tell you that cleaning is not the answer.
Do you clean office and restaurant furniture?
Yes. Breakout seating, reception furniture, banquettes, restaurant chairs and office chairs in bulk, and we work out of hours so your business is not disrupted.
Which areas do you cover?
Greater London, South East London, Kent and Surrey. Send a photo of the piece with your postcode and we will price it, usually within 24 hours.
